While each member is unique and menus will vary, all offer quality seafood at lunchtime and have well trained staff that are knowledgeable about the seafood dishes on offer. This makes a lunchtime visit to any BIM Seafood Circle pub a pleasurable experience for everyone, not just for the seafood lover. Ireland is renowned for its exceptional seafood and for its wonderful range of pubs and bars. The BIM Seafood Circle Pub Lunch Scheme marries these two great icons of Ireland. This scheme developed by BIM, in association with vintners, aims to support and encourage pubs to improve the quality and range of seafood dishes on lunchtime menus.For Seafood Circle members receiving their award this is the result of months of work. To gain entry to the scheme all applicants must serve minimum 25% seafood on lunchtime menus and comply with current food safety regulations.Once accepted into the program, they undertake the second phase, which focuses on topics including fish handling, customer’s services and promotional and marketing tips. The final milestone is successfully passing an independent assessment by Excellence Ireland. Only then will they receive the unique Seafood Circle Award Plaque and a listing in the guide.
